When Volvo entered the luxury electric car market under the Polestar sub-brand, it wanted to make an entrance - and it did just that with the Polestar 1. The 2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine accompanied by dual electric engines gives the Polestar 1 a deceptive amount of power underneath its refined exterior, with a 0-100 km/h time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. All-electric range is impressive too coming in at 123 km, a figure which rivals the range of some early full-electric cars.

Charging time for the Polestar 1 is around nine hours from empty to full when using a 7.4kW home charge point. If you access a public rapid charger you can expect an 80% recharge in around one hour.
